STL Prospects SC Merges with Sporting J.B. Marine SC

St. Louis, MO -Sporting J.B. Marine Soccer Club, an Academy Affiliate of the MLS Sporting KC franchise, is excited to announce that it has reached agreement with the St. Louis Prospects Soccer Club to merge the two programs. The US Soccer mandate of age grouping by birth year has imposed a lot of stress on all clubs, especially the smaller ones.“Combining two already quality clubs together will undoubtedly make this new group one of the most talented in the region” said Jeff Goddard, Club Director of STL Prospects.
Well known for a rich tradition with girls soccer, Sporting J.B. Marine began a boys program in 2015. The boys program has experienced a high level of success within a very short period of time. “The success, which is the direct result of our high quality training staff, has generated a lot of interest and quality growth opportunities for our Club,” said Pat Mann, Director of Coaching –Boys for Sporting J.B. Marine.
Per Bob Schneider, Executive Director of Sporting J.B. Marine SC, “The merger will allow the Club to operate more efficiently and provide additional resources to pursue our strategic initiatives, including the expansion of the area’s most qualified training / coaching staff and expansion of quality training facilities”. The Club will continue to utilize existing training facilities at Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex, but will now also have an outdoor training facility in Cottleville, along with an indoor training facility in Lake St. Louis.
Sporting J.B. Marine SC will now have a total of more than 60 competitive boys and girls teams in the U8 –U19 age groups. The majority of the teams play in the Premier & Championship Divisions of SLYSA and MRL.
Try-Outs for all Sporting J.B. Marine SC teams ( including existing STL Prospects SC teams ) will be at Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex from 8:30 am –4:30 pm on Saturday, June 18. Please consult the website of either organization for further information as follows:

J. B. Marine Soccer Club has accounted for 6 of the 8 national championships won by female soccer programs in the state of Missouri. The Club has placed many players in the US Women’s National Team pool and has 4 players that have made it to the top level of female soccer by playing for the US Women’s National Team. 2 players from the Club have played on the USWNT in 2015 that won the World Cup Championship team and both have won gold medals at the Olympics.
